Greetings to all listeners. I'm back
with another episode full of incredible content. It's an honor to share
this space and time with you.
In this episode, we delve into the
lives of those who defy distance, language, and fear. Migrants who left
behind the familiar to embrace the unknown. You'll hear stories of
everyday courage, of human beings reinventing their world, of young
people transforming rejection into strength. Because migrating isn't
just about moving: it's about rebuilding.
Before the update to
Spain's Immigration Law, which is now 26 years old, there were three
grounds for the regularization of migrants under exceptional
circumstances—quite harsh, because nothing is given away for free. But
it was decided to add residency based on education, an education that
migrants already possess. Of course, the youngest, under the
guardianship of the autonomous communities, must attend school like any
other minor.
It is a temporary residence permit for exceptional
circumstances that may be granted to foreign nationals who have been
continuously residing in Spain for a minimum of two years and are
enrolled in or attending any of the mandatory in-person adult education
courses, or who commit to undertaking training promoted by the Spanish
Public Employment Services for occupations included in the catalog of
hard-to-fill occupations of the Autonomous Communities. Furthermore,
they must demonstrate their integration into Spanish society through a
social integration report issued by the Autonomous Community or, where
applicable, by the City Council in whose territory the applicant has
their habitual residence, as well as provide proof of completion of said
training.
Thank you for joining me on this journey of humanity
and resilience. If this story resonated with you, please share it. And
if you have a story to tell, write to me. Until the next episode!
