"Los Cuentos de Canterbury", el "Camino de Santiago" inglés

¡Hola, mi gente! Comienza una nueva entrega de nuestro podcast. Prepárense para un episodio lleno de emocionantes historias. Hoy, como es domingo, toca sección de literatura inglesa.

"Los Cuentos de Canterbury" ,escritos entre los siglos XIV Y XV,   conforman una obra literaria medieval del poeta Geoffrey Chaucer  que consta de 24 cuentos relacionados con varios géneros literarios tratando temas muy variados desde el destino hasta la voluntad de Dios, pasando por el amor, el matrimonio, el orgullo y la muerte.

Cada cuento es narrado por uno de los personajes (32 en total) que peregrinan al santuario de Tomás Becket en Canterbury. Vamos, una especie de "Camino de Santiago" inglés y acuerdan contar 2 cuentos cada uno, uno a la ida, y otro a la vuelta.

Si les pica la curiosidad y los leen, decirles, a riesgo de spoiler, que los cuentos del camino de vuelta no existen, o eso se cree, porque Chaucer murió...

"The Canterbury Tales", written between the 14th and 15th centuries, make up a medieval literary work by the poet Geoffrey Chaucer that consists of 24 stories related to various literary genres dealing with very varied topics from destiny to the will of God, passing through love, marriage, pride and death.

Each story is narrated by one of the characters (32 in total) who make a pilgrimage to the shrine of Thomas Becket in Canterbury. Come on, a kind of English "Camino de Santiago" and they agree to tell 2 stories each, one on the way there, and one on the way back.

If you are curious and read them, tell you, at the risk of spoilers, that the tales of the way back do not exist, or so it is believed, because Chaucer died...
