This is what happens if you say Jesus was Palestinian

Hi!. How are you? Welcome back one more day from the Canary Islands to the world with a new episode of this podcast about human rights or other curiosities. A pleasure to be here.

What a pickle has been made for saying that Jesus is Palestinian! . At that time, the Roman Empire came under the name of Judea and Palestine.

Nowadays, Bethlehem is in the West Bank.Another thing: we must distinguish nationality, ethnicity, and religion: Jesus was ethnically Jewish; he prayed in synagogues, and if he had had a passport, he would be Palestinian, because Israel did not exist until 1948.

The bad thing is that this holy city is surrounded by 32 physical barriers, according to the Palestinian National Authority. This means that the religious freedom and freedom of movement of Palestinian citizens have been prohibited.

Well. I remember that last year they put Jesus in a manger with a kuffiyah or Palestinian scarf, and nothing happened... or as a refugee.

This year it was the Vatican, and that's it: the Nativity scene was set up. A real treat. In Jesus' time, that country was Palestine, with different areas and tribes. They had no borders. Remember, Israel was founded in 1948.

Israel doesn't like it because it means recognising Palestine... because they don't recognise Jesus.

And with this I conclude today's episode. see you in the next one!
