Let's Talk about Hate

Hi. How are you? Welcome back to one more day when it's... from the Canary Islands to the world with a new episode of this podcast about human rights or other curiosities. A pleasure to be here.

When I thought about this podcast, I did so convinced that it could work as an activity against hate crimes.

Hate crimes consist of an infraction or criminal act motivated by prejudice against one or more people due to the fact of belonging to a certain social group.

Understanding the theory, implementing policies against hate is more complicated. The far right has not hesitated to attack the prosecutors specialised in this matter and begin a 'hunt' against these professionals, asking that they be publicly named. going so far as to tweet the names of all the professionals who are assigned to this speciality in the different provincial prosecutor's offices. It's what they always do: make "black lists," becoming enemies.

The resentment against those of us who pursue hate crimes is palpable, especially if you defend migrants and their rights.

Such is the influence of these pseudojournalists that hundreds of people automatically began to write on their social networks with the hashtag invasion, but the worst thing is that their hatred is being personified in the form of relatives of the prosecutors.

And you? What do you do?
