Migrant and Displaced Children

Hi. How are you? Welcome back to one more day from the Canary Islands to the world with a new episode of this podcast about human rights or other curiosities. A pleasure to be here.

If there's one group that suffers the migration process like no other, and is also forced into it by the decisions of others, it's migrant children.

Millions of children are on the move. Some are driven from their homes by conflict, poverty or climate change; others leave in the hope of finding a better life. Far too many encounter danger, detention, deprivation and discrimination on their journeys, at destination or upon return.

In Sweden, there are cases of children who become paralyzed when they learn of the possibility of being returned.

Sweden has been battling a mysterious illness called "Resignation Syndrome", it affects only the children of asylum seekers, who withdraw completely, ceasing to walk, talk, or open their eyes.

And with this I conclude today episode, see you in the next one!

If you have any comments or suggestions for future episodes, you can write me a comment.
