In her diary, Anne Frank details the
progressive loss of rights and restrictions imposed by the Nazi
occupiers on Jews in Amsterdam from 1940 onward, which she described as
being "in chains." Anne narrates how these measures transformed her
daily life and that of her family, turning them into outcasts in their
own city.
Main restrictions recounted by Anne Frank:
1- Identification: Obligation to wear the yellow Star of David to identify Jews.
2- Restricted mobility: Prohibition from using public transportation (trams) and obligation to surrender bicycles.
3-
Social and recreational exclusion: Prohibition from entering cinemas,
theaters, swimming pools, tennis courts, and other public entertainment
venues.
4- Limited commerce: Obligation to shop only in stores
displaying the Jewish symbol and during very restricted hours (from 3 to
5 p.m.).
I say this because in Spain, the far right prefers to
lose millions of euros that could be invested in cities in order to
eliminate Low Emission Zones. What I mean by this is that rights will
always be the biggest losers. Even if you don't feel it now, it could
happen to you someday.
