BOOKS OF THE WORLD | "The Daughter of the Wind" by Binta Claire Sy

I won't dwell on the statistics or the reasons for migration, as that's not the focus of this section. I simply want to concentrate on the resilience of those who choose to migrate. One such person is Binta Claire Sy, a 15-year-old Senegalese girl who fled an arranged marriage, survived ten days at sea, and has just published "The Daughter of the Wind," a first-person account of fear, loneliness, and hope. I think I've made it clear that a war isn't necessary for people to migrate.
