La verdad que esta historia me recuerda a cuando tuvimos que alojar a las personas migrantes en el 2020: el Hotel de los Inmigrantes llegaba para solucionar un problema estructural serio: alojar a las grandes oleadas inmigratorias que arribaban a la Argentina de manera creciente desde la década 1870.
En sus tres plantas superiores, los dormitorios fueron capaces de albergar, cada uno, unas 250 personas. Las mujeres y los niños, en la última planta; los hombres, según su cantidad, en la primera y hasta en la segunda.
Entre 1912 y 1953, año de su cierre, alojó a aproximadamente a 1 millón de extranjeros.
El Hotel, devenido Museo de la Inmigración, cuenta con dos muestras permanentes: "Italianos y españoles en la Argentina" y "Para todos los hombres del mundo"
