STORIES FROM HORROR |The Arab Who Saved Jews

Believe it or not, there are more people than we think who put aside their safety for the good of their fellow human beings.

Mohamed Helmy was a well-known Egyptian doctor for the rescue and rescue of a Jewish family in the heart of Nazi Germany.

The doctor himself began to uphold racist law, and after the promulgation of the infamous Nuremberg Laws, Dr. Helmy was fired in 1937 for not being considered Aryan.

In Nazi racial classification, Helmy was defined as a "Hamit" or "Hamite" (descendant of Ham, son of Noah), a term used to define the natives of North Africa, the Horn of Africa and southern Arabia.

Helmy was arrested in 1939 along with other Egyptian citizens, and released in 1940 due to health problems, but he continued to help his Jewish friends, putting his own life in mortal danger.
