BOOKS OF THE WORLD | From Ovid to Modernity

Perhaps ancient works may not seem like things of the past, but you will be surprised by things that sound familiar to you in the present. He did not speak of heroic wars, but of what moves us all today:

  • Love and heartbreak: In his work The Art of Love or in his Amores, he gives advice on jealousy, conquest, and breakups that seem taken from Shakespeare.
  •  The obsession with change: His masterpiece, "Metamorphoses", explores constant transformation (changing bodies, mutating passions), reflecting the current idea of reinventing oneself. Nietzsche already addressed this.
