My name is Patricia. When I started the podcast, I made it clear I wanted to share ideas, to spark curiosity. Follow me to discover new things.
Recognizing that, at times, I am overly perceptive, as was the case more than 80 years ago, the press continues to warm up to its xenophobic parish. How? Publishing news about the increase in poverty, which occurs worldwide, or the arrival of small boats and even the cost of humanitarian camps, and then about foreigners, including EU citizens who reside or spend the summer in the Canary Islands, which, according to the press, they buy everything.
I keep insisting: where is it, if it exists, the deontological code of the press? Why do (pseudo) journalists use their networks, as platforms, believing themselves to be possessors of the truth, insult migrants and those who help them and nothing happens?
I even wrote an e-mail to the Canarian newspapers, that the comments on social networks fit, and continue to fit, in art. 510 of the Penal Code.
After few months, suddenly, the language of the articles changed: from talking about the arrival of migrants, it began to tell about their lives. Why? Because with more than evident evidence, attacks or threatened attacks on migrants staying in hotels were denounced, not to mention hoaxes.
The publication of this study shows that my insistence was right. I feel happy and rewarded.
