MIGRANT LIVES | Abuse and Smugglers

Hello, how are you? Welcome to this podcast, from the Canary Islands to the world.

Stories of struggle, resilience and hope of migrants seeking a better future, facing cultural, legal and personal challenges in new horizons.

Reports of sexual violence against migrants in Darien, in South America. Just so you don't know, Darien is a fairly dense jungle located in  the border between Colombia and Panama.

NGOs have been asked for reports of possible victims of sexual violence at the most critical crossing point on the migration route to the United States, but apparently there are no reports yet. The Panamanian government keeps a registry of all arriving migrants at the shelters located in the first towns they encounter along the border crossing, because a barrier is forming and where they can stay and eat before continuing their journey. I don't think it's wrong to conduct a census if it provides better service, as it's a kind of registration process, I can justify it.

The real problem, and this happens in Mexico, is that in the groups there are coyotes disguised as migrants, who then kidnap them and demand money from their relatives living in the US.

Here I make a request: if you are listening to me, and you are a good Christian, please understand what migrants go through.

And that concludes this today's episode, see you in the next one!
