The Shipwreck in El Hierro

Hi . Welcome to "The Satirical Scroll", from the Canary Islands to  the world.

This is a raw and unfiltered look at the darkest chapters of history. In each episode we explore dictatorships, hate crimes and terror regimes that left indelible scars on humanity. Silenced voices, forgotten memories and uncomfortable truths that need to be told.

Please listen to this cry from the heart! The shipwreck in El Hierro is not just news, it is a blow to our humanity.

Four women and three girls died in a shipwreck in the port of La Restinga, El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain. Their lives were lost meters from the coast, fleeing misery, violence, and despair, only to find death in a precarious boat. It often happens that when migrants, exhausted after several days of travel, become nervous and the boat capsizes, just as rescuers begin to rescue the minors on the dock. Other times it happens on the high seas.

How is it possible that, in the middle of 2025, we continue to turn a blind eye to this crisis?

In El Hierro, with insufficient resources and an indifference on social media that hurts. This is not just an accident: it is the reflection of a broken system, of failing policies, and of a numbed conscience. Today, I raise my voice to say: enough! Let us demand safe routes for migration, justice for the victims, and a real commitment to changing this reality.

Because every life lost at sea is a wreck of our own humanity. Do we join this fight or do we continue to look the other way?

And that concludes  toda''s episode, see you in the next one!
