Hoy toca hablar de sostenibilidad, y lo haré de construcción y de migración

Viajamos en el tiempo hasta  la Gran Depresión, para conocer la historia de una foto. En ella vemos once hombres sentados en una viga que está en lo alto de un rascacielos en construcción, al piso 69 del edificio RCA del Rockefeller Center, donde vemos, imaginariamente,  los 11 obreros que parece que están en el parque descansando.

Los protagonistas son nativos americanos, inmigrantes irlandeses o eslovacos y, según todos los indicios, hay también un inmigrante español de origen vasco

Hoy viajamos a Tanzania, el hogar de los masais, que películas como "Memorias de África " ha romantizado tanto.

La realidad es que están siendo desplazados de su entorno. 

Afirman que más de 70.000 pastores seminómadas que viven en el norte de la región de Loliondo están siendo obligados a hacer sitio para los cotos de caza privados.

Según los tratados internacionales de derechos humanos firmados por Tanzania, los masáis, un grupo étnico de pastores nómadas, deben dar primer permiso para utilizar su hábitat tradicional. “La expulsión sin autorización previa es una violación de los derechos humanos”, afirma el relator especial de la ONU, Balakrishnan Rajagopal. “El desalojo en nombre de la conservación, el turismo de safari y la caza de trofeos amenazan su supervivencia física y cultural”

Activismo vs. tráfico de seres humanos

El pasado domingo vi un programa dedicado a la inmigración. Fue muy diferente porque no hablaba de pateras ni cayucos. Tampoco de la acogida, sino del tránsito hacia Francia a través de la frontera. Gracias a una red , descubrimos la diferencia entre humanidad y tráfico de seres humanos: el dinero y como la policía les detiene de manera coercitiva. 

Quien me conoce lo sabe: no se me caen los anillos por ayudar, pero, de toda la gente a la que he ayudado, he recibido más aprecios y respeto de las personas migrantes que he atendido, por ejemplo, alegrarse se verme.

Pero hubo un momento en el que me vi reflejada: el presentador le pregunta por qué lo hace. Ella le dice que por cuestiones humanitarias y que ha pensado dejarlo. A mi también me ha pasado, pero es imposible. 

Last Sunday I saw a programme dedicated to immigration. It was very different because it didn't talk about small boats or canoes, nor about the reception, but about the transit to France through the border.
